SBRCURnet is an independent research institute for the entire Dutch building industry. The innovations and tools that we develop and provide, help professionals in improving their skillsets and business in both civil engineering and house building projects.
By initiating, researching and publishing about innovative solutions, we stimulate the further development of the entire building sector. Our focus is to help the building industry in realizing projects in a better, smarter and sustainable way.
approximately 500 publications about best practices and innovative building
solutions. Most of our research projects and activities result in the publication
of handbooks and guidelines, many of which have been adopted as the standard for
excellence in their respective areas.
Although generally published in Dutch, some of our publications are also available in English.
DESIGN GUIDELINE BASAL REINFORCED PILED EMBANKMENTS
A basal reinforced piled embankment consists of a reinforced embankment on a pile foundation. This publication is a guideline for the design of basal reinforced piled embankments. The guideline covers the following subjects: A survey of the requirements and the basic principles for the structure as a whole; some instructions for the pile foundation and the pile caps; design rules for the embankment with the basal geosynthetic reinforcement; extensive calculation examples; finite element calculations; construction details and management and maintenance of the piled embankment. The guideline includes many practical tips.
HYDRAULIC FILL MANUAL
This unique publication is written to supply the dredging industry with a handbook that helps to improve the understanding between the various parties (clients, consultants and contractors) involved in a hydraulic fill project.
It contains the latest developments in the field of design and construction of hydraulic fills and presents clear guidelines for initiation, design and construction of a hydraulic fill project.
THE ROCK MANUAL
The Rock Manual provides guidance that starts from the stage in a project when it has been decided to construct a structure in a hydraulic environment using rock as the only material, or as the primary material where it is one of a combination of materials.
The manual has benefited from extensive international review to ensure that it provides guidance on current good practice worldwide. The manual collates available research data and technical information together with practical experience gained by practitioners..» Read more about The Rock Manual...
The Livinggreen.eu partnership consists of municipalities, knowledge institutions and NGO’s that aims to promote sustainable renovation of the existing building stock. Partners from the respective European countries established Livinggreen centres in Delft (NL), Ludwigsburg (DE), Lille (FR), London (UK), as well as Antwerp (B). www.livinggreen.eu and www.envireo.eu
BuildUpSkillsNL unites national forces to increase the number of qualified ‘blue collar’ workers covering all relevant crafts and professions in order to meet the 2020 objectives in the built environment. The consortium consists of organizations from training-, installation-, and building sector that have national status. SBRCURnet is one of the Dutch partners. www.buildupskills.otib.nl
